1974 ON THE ROAD AGAIN
After eight years off the road, some call them
"the lost years", 1974 found Dylan back on the road with a tour of
North America backed by The Band, Tour '74. This was also the year when Dylan's
marriage to Sara started to break up. This is documented in Blood On The Tracks which was recorded in the fall.
Tour '74
starts with two shows in Chicago, Illinois. The surprise opener is Hero
Blues, repeated the second night in Chicago, then dropped in favor of Most
Like You Go Your Way at most of the shows. Four songs from Planet Waves
get their live debut Tough Mama,
Nobody 'Cept You, Something There Is About You and Forever
Young. The first three are sadly replaced later on in the tour. All
Along The Watchtower and Most Likely You Go Your Way (And
I'll Go Mine) are
also played live for the first time. |

recalled that “The only questions he asked me were questions about my
Christian faith, and what it meant to me. Basically the principles of
it.” |
