7.5.4 Comments

Before returning to the States, Dylan played two shows in Hawaii, first time since 1966. Back in the USA, the band was once more expanded, this time with an extra drummer, Charlie Quintana, who last played with Dylan in 1984 on the Letterman show.

The West Coast shows were also very good, although the variation was not the same as in Australia. The tour finished in Las Vegas on the day before Dylan's 51^st birthday. First time for Bob in Las Vegas (no, he did not play there in 1978!)

Jerry Garcia joined on Cat's In The Well and Idiot Wind in San Francisco 5 May, playing one of Dylan's electric guitars.

T-Bone Burnett played on three songs: Idiot Wind, The Times They Are A-Changin' and Highway 61 Revisited at the show in San José 9 May.
