6.8.4 Comments

As usual, the year ended with a long, long Fall tour, mainly on the East Coast. The performances during this last leg were even better than earlier during the year, leading up to the great Unplugged sessions. Several of the shows were filmed for the on-going video project.

Guests

Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen watched the last of the New York City shows at The Roseland Ballroom and joined Dylan and the band for two extra encores, Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 and Highway 61 Revisited. Neil Young played electric lead guitar and Bruce Springsteen played electric rhythm guitar. None of them sang.

At the show in Jackson, Carl Perkins joined Dylan and the band for an extra encore, Matchbox, singing and playing guitar. Bob did no singing on this song.
