fancy about Sydney Stadium, as the local name, the Old Tin Shed, would
indicate, but it was the only place that had the capacity to put on shows. It was roughly circular and
had a a mechanical revolving stage in
the centre which swept 90 degrees after each song. This explains some of Bob's
remarks ... while the stage moves around! It got so hot inside that Bob nearly
passed out in temperatures over 40o C.

This is, this is called Tom Thumb. This story takes place outside of
This one's called-a Yes I See You've Got Your Brand New Leopard-Skin

[heckler: Hard Rain!!] Hard rain? I wish I saw some hard rain last
night. Hard rain. Hard rain, I feel no pain, ha. I'll be coming back tomorrow
again ... [heckler: Far out!] Is that alright with you now? (after

Lennart Swahn:
So how do you manage to get your trousers this wrinkled, I mean, do you really make them that way?
Bob Dylan: My trousers?! No, these are just p... I just had them pressed last night! I don't understand!!
Later as a
response to a question about his message and the claim that he travels around
the world as a protest singer:
Well you
know I don't, you know I don't. I mean if you wanna believe what you read. I
mean nobody believes what they read. You know? I mean even if you're a
reporter, you don't believe what you
read.

are fragments. This concert is runoured to have had a rare
encore. The recording was, like most audience
recordings from this time, done with a Revox reel-tape recorder. The reason
this tape is so fragmented and incomplete is that the taper just wanted to
use one side of his tape, because he had a Beatles concert recording on the
other side! Since this was in the days before The Great White Wonder, members
of the band helped him to set up his stuff on the stage! Incomplete
audience mono recording, 45 minutes. Session

BobTalk
I’ve never done this before but I want you to meet
Robbie Robertson here and, and Garth Hudson, Mickey Jones, Rick Danko, and, …
and Richard! (to someone in the band) You promised me you were gonna read. It doesn’t mean a thing now, but
they’re all poets, you understand, if it comes out that way, it comes out that
way, but, all poets you know. This song here is dedicated to The Taj Mahal. Now,
we’re gonna leave after this song and I wanna say goodbye to all of you people,
you’ve been very wo.. very people, you know, I …, you’ve been very nice people.
I mean, here you are sitting in this great, huge place. And believe me, we’ve
enjoyed every minute of being here! (before Like A Rolling Stone)
